We Need Your Help …. Team Thunder Race to Germany!
Support Findon Technical College’s Hydrogen-Powered Dream
This August, after winning the State H2GP Grand Prix, five brilliant Year 10 students from Findon Technical College-Cayden, Zara, Riley, Bruno, and Tom-have the opportunity to represent South Australia at the World Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) Endurance Race in Chemnitz, Germany. This prestigious international event showcases the future of clean energy through hydrogen-powered remote control car racing.
What is H2GP?
The Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) is a cutting-edge global competition where students design, build, and race hydrogen-powered remote control cars. These cars run on clean hydrogen fuel cells, demonstrating the potential of sustainable transport and energy innovation. It’s more than a race-it’s a launchpad for the next generation of engineers, scientists, and changemakers.
Why It Matters
This opportunity is part of the students’ Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering curriculum, blending hands-on learning with real-world impact. Competing in Germany will give them:
• Global exposure to hydrogen technology
• Collaboration with international teams
• A chance to contribute to Australia’s future in energy and engineering
Time is Running Out
Team Thunder is scheduled to depart on 19 August 2025, but flights cannot be booked unless sufficient funds are raised. Our total fundraising goal is $50,000, and we are currently $15,000 short. Without this final support, the team is at serious risk of missing out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Every bit counts-no amount is too big or too small. Whether you can give $20 or $2,000, your support will help these students take their talents to the world stage!
